Phuoc Son Gold Plant - Vietnam

Phuoc Son is an area of extensive artisan gold mining activity. Gold occurs in quartz veins, hosted within stacked shear zones of regional extent. NI43-101 resources have to date been partially delineated within a 5 strike km section of one such shear zone (Dak Sa), in the southern part of the exploration area. Current underground mine developments are focused upon two high-grade ore shoots within the Dak Sa structure. Exploration to develop the long-term potential of adjacent target areas currently remains at an early stage.

Production Plant

The Phuoc Son Gold Plant is now in the final stages of commissioning and the first gold doré was poured in June 2011. Consolidated production in 2011 from the Phuoc Son and Bong Mieu Gold Plants is projected at 46,000 ounces resulting in generating net operating cash for the company.

Phuoc Son Underground Mine

  • Underground being developed at the southern end of the License area.
  • The structure contains an open ended NI 43-101 Resource Estimate
  • The deposit has been producing grades in excess of 15 g/t Au

Geology Highlights

  • Relatively high-grade, quartz vein hosted mineralization (the average head-grade during 2010 was 14.00 g/t gold).
  • High-grade ore-shoots plunge NW and occur repetitively along strike..
  • NI43-101 resources have been delineated (See Resource Estimates) within zones that remain open at depth and along strike.
  • The Dak Sa shear zone has been drill-intersected over 5km of strike and remains open in both strike directions.
  • Multiple prospect areas in other stacked shear structures are yet to be explored.
  • Phuoc Son is within the same plate-tectonic and metallogenic setting as the Sepon Cu-Au mine in Laos.
  • The Phuoc Son area is in general largely unexplored, with large exploration upside potential.
